A Trump-appointed federal prosecutor in Miami has launched what some are calling the most explosive political investigation in years — a probe into an alleged “grand conspiracy” by Democrats led by former President Barack Obama to destroy Donald Trump’s political career.
According to The New York Times, Jason Reding Quinones, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, has already issued more than 30 subpoenas to former Obama officials who played roles in the 2016 Trump-Russia investigation.
Among them: James Clapper (ex-DNI), Peter Strzok (ex-FBI agent), and Lisa Page (ex-FBI lawyer).
💥 The probe follows a far-right theory that Obama’s team used the so-called “Russia hoax” to frame Trump and even set him up for prison after his 2016 win.
But Quinones’ investigation is already causing shockwaves inside the Justice Department — at least two prosecutors have resigned rather than join the probe, according to MSNBC.
Bloomberg reports that Quinones has rallied his staff to “take on the anti-Trumpers,” even calling a special meeting of top prosecutors this Monday.
“Everyone is on pins and needles,” one source said.
A grand jury was formed on January 12, fueling speculation that indictments against former Obama officials could be next.
🔥 Former Senate staffer Mike Davis, a vocal Trump ally, posted a photo with Quinones, declaring:
“Justice is coming.”
💬 Tulsi Gabbard Drops a Bomb of Her Own
Back in July, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (a Democrat-turned-Republican) filed criminal referrals against Barack Obama, James Clapper, and ex-CIA Director John Brennan, accusing them of “treasonous conspiracy.”
“The evidence clearly shows a treasonous plot at the highest levels of government,” Gabbard told DailyMail.com.
“Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and stage a years-long coup against President Trump.”
Gabbard says she’s turning over all evidence to the DOJ, insisting that “no one, no matter how powerful, is above the law.”
Trump, meanwhile, has doubled down — accusing Obama of treason, while Obama’s camp calls the allegations “bizarre” and a “desperate distraction” from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
⚔️ Obama’s Team Fires Back
An Obama spokesperson fired off a rare response:
“These claims are outrageous and absurd — a weak attempt at distraction.”
They pointed out that a bipartisan Senate Intelligence report (2020) confirmed Russia did try to interfere in 2016 — but didn’t alter any votes.
Still, Trump insists Obama was “caught cold,” claiming:
“He’s done criminal acts, no question. But thanks to presidential immunity… he owes me big. Obama owes me big.” 😳
⚖️ The Bigger Picture
The investigation — now moved to Florida — could open the door to criminal charges against top Obama-era officials like Brennan and Comey.
Trump has hinted that Attorney General Pam Bondi could take action, but even he admits “presidential immunity” may protect Obama from prosecution.
🇺🇸 BOTTOM LINE:
-
Trump’s team says they’re exposing a “deep state coup.”
-
Obama’s allies say it’s pure political theater.
-
The DOJ is silent. Washington is rattled.
🔥 And as subpoenas fly and whispers grow louder — one thing’s clear: the Obama–Trump war is far from over.
