Coronation Street‘s Kit Green made a breakthrough in the Theo Silverton murder case last night but, unfortunately, the detective didn’t stick around to question his new “prime suspect”. On Monday’s episode Kit spotted a huge clue while looking through Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain’s wedding photos.
Hawk-eyed Kit spotted that, at the wedding reception, Summer Spellman was wearing the brooch that was later found covered in blood in Theo and Todd’s flat. Kit then declared that Summer was his new “prime suspect”.
With Theo’s murder case still the talk of the street, you might have thought that Kit would be champing at the bit to interview “prime suspect” Summer but when it came to it tonight Kit was nowhere to be seen.
An early scene in the episode revealed that Kit had gone to Wales on a secondment, despite being involved in a murder investigation and a grooming case.
Followers of actor Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit, on social media may have seen that he enjoyed a holiday to the US a few weeks ago which would explain the character’s absence.
Meanwhile, Summer’s questioning was done by Lisa who grilled her on how the brooch ended up in the flat. Summer said she had no idea how it happened, suggesting that maybe it fell off after she left Underworld and Theo had picked it up.
At home, George Shuttleworth spoke to Summer, asking her if she’d gone round to Theo’s flat on the night he died.
Summer denied have going round to the flat but later George questioned her again, revealing that he had seen her “running from the direction of their flat,” with a flashback scene showing viewers Summer on the night of the murder.
Did Kit finally crack the case when he pinned Summer as the “prime suspect”?
