Coronation Street‘s Ronnie Bailey is set to take matters into his own hands to protect his wife Debbie Webster from her freeloading son Carl in new scenes.
The tension between Debbie and Carl rises when she discovers he’s attempting to profit from Summer Spellman’s research into Billy Mayhew’s death.
Billy died in the multi-vehicle pileup aired during Corriedale, with Debbie taking the fall for Carl, who had caused the accident.
Now out of prison, Debbie finds out that Carl has promised Summer some intel on Billy’s death in exchange for her inheritance money. She confronts him, but the heated argument triggers a dementia episode for Debbie, which rings alarm bells for friend and hotel employee Ryan Connor.
In a development, Ryan tells Ronnie about his wife’s row with Carl, informing him the exchange brought about another episode for Debbie, who was left staring vacantly into space.
“Fans will have to wait and see what Ronnie proposes, but Carl is unlikely to make life easy for him,” explained our Corrie source.
“We’ve seen that Carl will stop at nothing to make some fast cash and his mum Debbie will clearly forgive him for anything, which puts Ronnie in a difficult position.
