‘Teacher of the Year’ placed on leave after allegedly trying to mow down baby daddy in Walmart parking lot

A former “Teacher of the Year” has been suspended from her job after allegedly trying to mow down her baby’s daddy with her car in a Walmart parking lot.

Sade Delesia Nacheyle Nelson, a 2025 award winner at St. John’s High School in Charleston, South Carolina, allegedly assaulted the father of her child and his girlfriend during an Oct. 18 custody exchange, Live5News reported.Mugshot of Sade Delesia Nacheyle Nelson.

Nelson, 37, allegedly punched her baby daddy and his girlfriend, and witnesses reported that she had attempted to ram him with her car, police said.

The father claimed to police he had opened the passenger door of her car to pick up his son when Nelson began punching him repeatedly — causing him to fall to the ground, according to police records obtained by the Daily Mail.

He said he fell out of the car trying to escape her blows. Security footage obtained by police showed Nelson driving her car directly at the man, according to the report.
