Pretty in Pink!
Sydney Sweeney is embracing the ultra-feminine aesthetic on her press tour for the upcoming female boxing biopic Christy — stepping out this evening in a pale pink Alexander McQueen gown for the film’s premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.
Styled by Molly Dickson, the romantic floor-length dress perfectly complemented Sweeney’s 5ft 3in frame. It featured a corseted satin bodice in dusty pink with boning and a ruched bust detail, paired with a sequin-embellished lace neckline. A softly layered lace skirt with a ruffled hem added volume and fluidity as she glided down the red carpet.
This marks the star’s second pale pink moment of the season; she previously wore a custom Erdem gown in a similar shade for the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September.
Earlier this month, she turned heads in a vintage Thierry Mugler tutu dress — a strikingly theatrical look complete with a cropped suit jacket with curled lapels and a plunging bustier. A white mini skirt peeked out beneath the sheer, structured tutu adorned with dainty bows on the hips, creating a ballet-meets-boxing red carpet moment.
Sweeney’s London ensemble seems to blend her previous looks, maintaining her signature corseted silhouette while drawing attention to her toned legs — whether with mini hemlines or sheer fabrics.
The actress underwent an intense fitness transformation for Christy, gaining 30 pounds of muscle in just three and a half months.
“I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour,” she told W magazine in a summer interview.
It’s no surprise she’s proudly showing off the results of that hard work.
The star also made waves at her 28th birthday party last month, channelling Britney Spears in a sparkling silver mini dress from The Blonds Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Spears famously wore the dazzling design during her Circus era nearly two decades ago.
Whatever role Sweeney takes on next, one thing is certain — she’ll deliver it with her signature snatched red carpet style. And quite possibly in pink. 💕
