Keith Urban jokes about divorce from Nicole Kidman during Nashville concert
Keith Urban is keeping his sense of humour firmly intact amid his ongoing divorce from Nicole Kidman.
The country music star had fans in stitches during the final stop of his High and Alive World Tour at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday, when he unexpectedly encountered a fan who shared the same name as his soon-to-be ex.
In a now-viral clip on TikTok, Urban, 57, can be seen asking a fan for her name. When she replied “Nicole” into the microphone, the singer dramatically dropped to the stage floor, feigning mock despair as the crowd roared with laughter and applause.
Urban then playfully lifted his arm in faux frustration, clearly amused by the uncanny coincidence.
Kidman, 58, filed for divorce from Urban on 30 September — just a day after the couple publicly confirmed their split following 19 years of marriage.
According to court filings, the Big Little Lies actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. The date of separation is officially recorded as the day of filing.
She is seeking to become the primary residential parent of the pair’s two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14
.
Despite the personal upheaval, Urban’s quick wit and charm on stage proved he’s not losing his trademark sense of humour.
