How Taylor Swift’s bombshell text slamming Justin Baldoni confirms ‘Cancelled’ is about Blake Lively

Look what he made her do.

Taylor Swift’s bombshell text to Blake Lively about “bitch” Justin Baldoni confirmed the singer’s song “Cancelled” is about the actress.

Per court docs obtained by Page Six Tuesday, the “Bad Blood” singer communicated with Lively ahead of the New York Times article that claimed the director waged a smear campaign against his “It Ends With Us” co-star.

In the song “Cancelled” — which was released on Swift’s 2025 album, “The Life of a Showgirl” — she also mentions the phrase “tiny violin.”

“Did you make a joke only a man could? / Were you just too smug for your own good? / Or bring a tiny violin to a knife fight? / Baby, that all ends tonight,” she sang in the song.

“Good thing I like my friends cancelled (cancelled) / I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal (yeah) / Like my whiskey sour / And poison thorny flowers / (Honey) welcome to my underworld,” Swift added.

The “Gossip Girl” alum and Swift’s friendship imploded last year when the singer was dragged into the former’s legal battle with Baldoni.

In January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, alleging defamation, extortion and more. (The lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025.)

In the docs, the “Five Feet Apart” director shared texts from Lively, showing a discussion they had about Swift.

“I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better,” the actress’s text read.

“Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. [Smiley-face emoji] you will too, I can promise you.”

In another alleged text from Lively, she referred to Swift and Reynolds, 48, as her “most trusted partners.”

In May 2025, Swift was issued a subpoena to appear in court as a witness in the ongoing legal feud. (The subpoena was dropped later that month.)

A source close to the pop star told People about Lively and Swift, “Their friendship has halted. Taylor wants no part in this drama.”
