Hannah Einbinder has sparked heated debate following her politically charged acceptance speech at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The Hacks star, who stunned in a one-shoulder Louis Vuitton sequin gown, took to the stage on Sunday night to accept the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. As she wrapped up her speech, she thanked the Philadelphia Eagles — and then delivered a controversial statement:
“Go Birds, f–k ICE and free Palestine,” she shouted, referencing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the conflict in Gaza.
The ending of her speech was censored on the live broadcast, but the unedited version quickly spread across social media platforms, igniting strong reactions from both critics and supporters.
One X user wrote:

After the ceremony, she spoke to reporters about why she felt compelled to address political issues during the star-studded event.
“I thought it was important to talk about Palestine because it’s an issue that’s very dear to my heart,” she said, referring to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
“I have friends in Gaza who are working as frontline workers, as doctors right now in the north of Gaza to provide care for pregnant women and for school children, to create schools in the refugee camps. It’s an issue that’s really close to my heart.”
The stand-up comedian continued:
“For many reasons, I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the state of Israel … Boycotting is an effective tool to create pressure on the powers that be to meet the moment. So the Film Workers for Palestine boycott does not boycott individuals; it only boycotts institutions that are directly complicit in the genocide.”
Einbinder’s speech has since dominated social media, with many predicting the moment will have a lasting impact — both on her career and on the ongoing conversation in Hollywood around the war in Gaza.
