Coronation Street will confirm the fate of Roy Cropper following the devastating arson of Roy’s Rolls, which saw Jodie Ramsey and Mal Roper frantically attempt to save the beloved character after he was caught in the middle.
Sunday’s (12 April) episode of the ITV soap saw the villainous Mal make his worst move yet in his ongoing obsession with Bernie Winter-Alahan, with the schemer dousing the place in petrol in a bid to enact revenge.
Today’s follow-up instalment sees Bernie visit Roy in hospital, though she will soon be pressed by Lisa Swain about what she knows about Mal. Carla Connor, meanwhile, will tell Roy that he can stay with her and Lisa after he recovers.
Lisa grills Kit about the situation involving Mal, which has seen him be (rightfully) accused of assault. He remarks that the villain has a “vendetta” against anybody who is associated with Bernie. Lisa, however, will not believe a word her colleague says.
Roy is discharged from hospital, and heads to Carla and Lisa’s as he attempts to rebuild his life following the loss of his flat. Unfortunately for him, little could be recovered from the flat following the fire, though the café is said to be mostly intact.
Later on, Kit expresses worry to Sarah about the pressure he’s facing from Lisa, though their conversation is interrupted as a bloodied Todd Grimshaw rings the buzzer for the flat after an altercation with his abusive husband, Theo Silverton.
While Kit appears to be in the clear for now, it could backfire for him if Lisa learns that Mal is telling the truth about the assault. Though the police officer told Sarah that Mal was looking at prison time, his career could be in jeopardy if the truth comes out.
Jodie, meanwhile, was welcomed by Carla and Lisa after her actions initially forced Mal out of town, but they are unaware that the Weatherfield newcomer actually harbours a manipulative streak. Will they regret getting too close?
