Pop icon Britney Spears has furiously responded to shocking allegations made by her ex-husband Kevin Federline, accusing him of years of emotional “gaslighting.”
Kevin, 47, is set to release a tell-all book on October 21, claiming Britney displayed worrying behavior during their marriage and while co-parenting their sons Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19). Among the claims are stories about Britney standing silently over their children at night while holding a knife — accusations Britney calls “hurtful lies.”

In a statement posted on Instagram, Britney said the gaslighting is “extremely hurtful and exhausting,” and revealed she’s only seen one of her sons for 45 minutes in the past five years, and the other just four times. She expressed pain over being alienated from her children but insisted she would always love them.
Britney also suggested Kevin is profiting from her pain, saying, “Those white lies in that book are going straight to the bank — and I’m the only one who gets hurt.”
The pop star has struggled with a complicated relationship with her sons since losing full custody in 2007 following her mental health crisis. Their bond grew more distant after they moved to Hawaii with Kevin and his new family in 2023.
Despite everything, Britney vowed to keep trying to rebuild her relationship with them, saying she’s “had enough” of lies and manipulation.
