- Mahomes and Kelce opened 1587 Prime, a high-end steakhouse in Kansas City.
- Their restaurant partnered with one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
- 1587 Prime offers themed drinks, including āBig Yetiā and āShowtime,ā celebrating both sports stars.
Patrick MahomesĀ andĀ Travis KelceĀ are the centerpiece of theĀ Kansas City Chiefsā modern-day dynasty ā one that has produced no less than threeĀ Super BowlĀ titles in the last six years. Mahomes recently set theĀ NFLĀ record for the fastest quarterback to 300 career passing touchdowns. At the same time, Kelce holds, among other things, the Chiefsā record for most career receiving yards (12,472).
Mahomes and Kelce recently took their on-field partnership beyond football. The two Chiefs stars decided to open a new restaurant in Kansas City, 1587 Prime, which is marketed as a high-end steakhouse that aims to rival the best in the business ā just like Mahomes and Kelce have done on the field for many years.

One individual who has reached heights similar to those of Mahomes and Kelce isĀ Steph CurryĀ of theĀ Golden State Warriors. The former back-to-backĀ NBAĀ MVPās impact on basketball has been unprecedented, having led the Warriors to four championships since 2015. Curry, the NBAās all-time leader for most career three-pointers (4,058), is also widely regarded as the greatest shooter of all time.
Like Mahomes and Kelce, Curry has alsoĀ ventured into multiple businesses outside basketball. One of them is his whiskey brand, Gentlemanās Cut Bourbon, which the Warriors guard established in 2023 out of Boone County, Kentucky.
Recently, the worlds of these three superstars collided, albeit away from football and basketball. This came in the form of 1587 Prime partnering up with Gentlemanās Cut Bourbon to produce a special product for the restaurant.
Apart from serving some of the best steaks in the city, 1587 Prime also prides itself onĀ itsĀ unique selectionĀ of alcoholic beverages. Part of their lineup is the āBig Yeti,ā one of Kelceās known nicknames, which consists of Gentlemanās Cut Bourbon, Bulleit Rye Whiskey, nocino (an Italian walnut liqueur), demerara (a type of raw cane sugar) and bitters.
The cocktail has similarities to the classic drink, the Old Fashioned, but with a Steph Curry twist.
Mahomes and Kelce opened 1587 Prime in September, and āBig Yetiā has been part of their menu from day one. Other cocktail offerings include Mahomesā āShowtime,ā his wife Brittany Mahomesā āQueen B,ā as well as āThe Alchemyā from Kelceās future wife,Ā Taylor Swift.
āIām not a big liquor drinker myself but, from everyone else, Iāve heard itās a really good drink and obviously [we] wanted to have an ode to Taylor and how important she is, not only to us but this city as well,ā Mahomes said in aĀ radio interviewĀ in September.
As for their football, Mahomes and Kelce are coming off aĀ 30-17 winĀ over theĀ Detroit LionsĀ in Week 6, which saw the Chiefs improve to 3-3 on the season. They will be back in action on Sunday in a Week 7 showdown against theĀ Las Vegas RaidersĀ atĀ ArrowheadĀ Stadium.
Curry, on the other hand, is entering his 17thĀ season with the Warriors. The new NBA season tips off on Oct. 21.
