The Kennedy legacy lives on! Jack Schlossberg, the only grandson of John F. Kennedy, just confirmed he’s running for Congress — and he’s not here to play it safe.
At 32, Schlossberg has already made waves online, racking up 1.7 MILLION followers across X, Instagram, and TikTok with his bold, no-holds-barred videos calling out the Trump administration. Now, he’s bringing that fire to New York City politics.
💌 In an email to supporters Tuesday night, Jack announced he’s aiming to succeed 78-year-old Jerrold Nadler, who’s retiring after 34 years in Congress.
But it won’t be easy — the district is packed with heavy hitters, including two state assembly members, a city council member, and 26-year-old nonprofit founder Liam Elkind.
🗣 “This district needs someone who knows how to fight in today’s political era,” Jack told The New York Times. “Democrats need people who both understand policy AND know how to break through in new media — because the ecosystem is toxic thanks to the president.”
Jack’s controversial social media moments — like challenging cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to a fight or joking about the Second Lady Usha Vance — are all part of a bigger strategy.
“People called me crazy for my videos, but if someone saw one, they got info about the Trump administration they might not have gotten otherwise,” he explained.
His mom, Caroline Kennedy, praised his strategy:
“I’m impressed he’s willing to take risks, even if people find him offensive. That’s leadership.”
🔥 Jack has been vocal against RFK Jr., calling out his presidential run in 2023 for trading “Camelot, celebrity, conspiracy theories, and conflict for personal gain.” He’s also publicly clashed with other figures — from the Second Lady to Megyn Kelly — in a series of viral, eyebrow-raising posts.
🎓 But don’t mistake the shock factor for inexperience: Jack’s a Yale grad with master’s and law degrees from Harvard, has worked in the State Department, Congress, and even appeared at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. He’s been a key player at the Kennedy Foundation and on the America 250 Commission.
His mission? Helping Democrats regain control of the House.
“A Democrat should challenge the status quo, represent counterculture, artists, and innovators,” he said. “We lost touch with that because we were scared of the other side and didn’t know how to react.”
Jack also looks to his family legacy for inspiration: JFK and Uncle Teddy Kennedy, who fought for healthcare, immigration, and labor rights.
🗳 But not everyone’s sold: Nadler himself warned that a Kennedy isn’t automatically the right pick. “Unlike Schlossberg, a Kennedy should have a record of public service — he doesn’t yet.”
The race is set for June 2026, and Jack Schlossberg is ready to turn heads — and maybe even shake up New York City politics.
