I see him as a young man, forced to leave his family—everyone he loves.
He’s forced to say goodbye to the one he loves, all because of his country.
They say it’s a matter of honor.
This soldier gathers every ounce of courage he has to promise that he will return.
But deep inside, he is filled with fear and doubt.
War is a terrible thing. Beyond the promise of liberation, it also means losing lives—lives that will never return.
It means fathers and mothers who will never see their children again.
Children who will never see their fathers again.
Wives who will never see their husbands again.
I stumbled upon these photos, and they truly touched my heart.
They capture separation, heartbreak, and reunion.
I only hope that those smiles, the dances, the laughter… will have a happy ending.
And may we never forget to share joyful moments with the people we love.
