Wes Streeting has hailed GB News as a fellow “plucky underdog” for its success since launching five years ago.
In a cheeky exchange with Chief Political Correspondent Katherine Forster, the former Health Secretary promised he too would face down the “tyranny of low expectations”.
When Katherine asked him about his chances of mounting a successful leadership challenge against Keir Starmer, he said with a grin: “I’m bitterly disappointed.”
“I’m disappointed that GB News of all outlets, would question whether a plucky underdog could triumph over the tyranny of low expectations.
“Lots of people wrote your station off, said it would be a total flop. You’d fall flat on your face. And yet here you are,” he celebrated.
The Former Health Secretary could not resist making a cheeky dig: “Aren’t we really glad of it? On the left of politics?”
