Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter, Victoria Jones, may have died from a suspected drug overdose, according to emergency dispatch audio related to her death.
Victoria, 34, was discovered unresponsive in the early hours of Jan. 1 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco and was later pronounced dead, PEOPLE previously reported. In the 911 dispatch audio obtained by PEOPLE, the incident was described as a “code 3 for overdose, color change.”
The term “color change” in overdose situations typically refers to cyanosis — a lack of oxygen in the blood that can cause the skin, lips, and fingernails to appear blue or purple, often associated with heart or lung complications.
Both the San Francisco Police Department and San Francisco Fire Department confirmed they responded to a medical emergency at the Fairmont Hotel at 2:52 a.m. on Jan. 1. When first responders arrived, they located a deceased woman whose identity was not immediately released.
NBC Bay Area later reported, citing a police source, that the woman is believed to be Victoria Jones. Authorities stated they do not currently suspect foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner and have not yet been announced.
Representatives for the Fairmont Hotel, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco, and a spokesperson for Tommy Lee Jones did not immediately respond to requests for comment.:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(749x0:751x2):format(webp)/tommy-lee-jones-kids-victoria-3-b82c7e04064243afa8cf4c5054839215.jpg)
Victoria was the daughter of the 79-year-old Oscar-winning actor and his ex-wife, photographer Kimberlea Cloughley. The former couple also share a son, Austin Jones, 43.
Court records reviewed by PEOPLE show that Victoria had faced legal trouble over the past year, including at least two arrests connected to drug possession and related charges.
On April 28, 2025, she was arrested in Napa County, California, and charged with three misdemeanors: obstructing a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, and possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
She was arrested again on June 17, 2025, also in Napa County, on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, and entered a not guilty plea on July 1.
Despite personal struggles, Victoria had pursued acting like her father. She appeared in Men in Black II in 2002 and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada in 2005, as well as making a brief appearance in a 2003 episode of One Tree Hill.
An investigation into her death remains ongoing.
