Coronation Street fans make Todd Grimshaw prediction as he comes clean over abuse
It’s been confirmed that Todd will come clean about the abuse he has been suffering at the hands of his partner, Theo Silverton
It would be an understatement to say that it has been difficult to watch the relationship unfold between the pair. Viewers have watched undertaker Todd slowly become a shell of himself as he suffers both physical and mental abuse at the hands of the builder, who only came into his life last year.
And when Corrie fans thought they could breathe a sigh of relief last month when Todd and Theo decided to split, it was only a matter of days before they reconciled, with the break-up another part of Theo’s manipulation tactics.
But to make things worse, they ended up married days later as in a shock twist as Theo sprung a surprise wedding on Todd, much to the confusion of his loved ones when the returned to the street having tied the knot with only Gary and Maria Windass as their witnesses.
Todd’s loved ones have become aware of the abuse he has been facing, with George Shuttleworth hearing first-hand just some of the vile comments Theo makes towards his new husband. He’s since rallied the likes of Sarah Platt and Summer Spellman in a bid to help Todd escape.
But things are set to get worse before Todd finally makes the decision to speak out on the abuse he has suffered. Corrie spoilers for next week’s episodes have now revealed that Theo’s plan to move Todd away from his friends is coming sooner than they think.
Still suspicious about what Carl Wesbter said about someone else being responsible for Billy Mayhew’s death, Summer goes round to see Theo and quizzes him about her guardian’s last moments. But she is shocked when she discovers Todd and Theo are moving away to Belfast sooner than she thought. In a bid to stop him, Summer later meets up with Todd for a drink and tells him how she now suspects Theo killed Billy. How will Todd react?
As the week unfolds, Sarah Platt tells George Shuttleworth about Theo and Todd’s plans and together, they set off with Summer to speak to Todd. However, their plan is foiled by Theo, who, through the ring doorbell, lies that they are already on their way and Todd is paying for petrol.
Under his control, Todd persuades Theo to unlock the bedroom door and let him call Sarah to back up his story then he’ll know that he can be trusted. Todd sets about convincing Sarah what Theo said was true and as he makes out he’s going for a shower, Todd then finishes his packing.
But it was all a rouse and with Theo out of the way, Todd tries to escape. Will he manage to get out of the flat? Meanwhile, Sarah is at home chatting with Kit when the buzzer goes, but who is at the door?
It’s then in the mid-week visit to Weatherfield on Wednesday, April 15, that viewers will see a moving one-strand episode as Todd finally stands up against Theo, reporting him for assault before he opens up to DC Kit Green and DS Lisa Swain about the months of abuse he has been suffering at the hands of his husband.
Meanwhile, Theo knows his time is up and is desperate to flee Weatherfield. But as news of his violent controlling behaviour spreads, is it too late for him to escape?
