Private text messages between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have exploded into the public eye, revealing the two A-listers mocking It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni as a “clown” and a “bitch” — and plotting behind the scenes over the film’s script and soundtrack.
According to bombshell court documents obtained by Page Six, Lively repeatedly disparaged Baldoni, her co-star and director in the romantic drama, while Swift openly backed her friend’s efforts to reshape the movie.
In one exchange, Lively allegedly referred to Baldoni as the “doofus director of my movie” while venting to Swift about her frustrations on set.
Baldoni’s lawyers claim that in April 2023, Lively asked Swift to endorse her rewritten version of the It Ends With Us script — without even reading it first. Swift, they allege, eagerly agreed.
“Swift agreed to do Lively’s bidding,” the court filing states, citing a message from the pop superstar that read: “I’ll do anything for you!!”
After Swift later backed Lively’s revised script during a meeting with Baldoni at Lively’s apartment, the actress gushed to her famous best friend.
“You were so epically heroic today,” Lively texted Swift, according to the documents.
“I recapped every moment to Ryan [Reynolds]. I kept remembering stuff. You making s–t up about me and lenses. And referring to yourself as my doll. This clown falling for all of it. But also resisting it. You are the world’s absolute greatest friend ever.”
Mocking Baldoni Over Taylor Swift’s Music
The texts also show Swift and Lively ridiculing Baldoni for using Swift’s song My Tears Ricochet in the film.
In messages dated April 26, 2024, the two discussed leveraging Swift’s music for power over the project.
“If Justin was strategic he would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer because that gives you more power over the film,” Swift allegedly wrote.
“That’s your ally, not his.”
Lively replied:
“You are so right… He should’ve run from your music… How stupid. This was his only shot at having the appearance of an upper hand.”
‘This Bitch Knows Something Is Coming’
Perhaps the most explosive exchange surfaced from December 2024, just before a New York Times article dropped alleging Baldoni had waged a smear campaign against Lively.
“I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” Swift allegedly texted Lively, according to the court filing.
Lively later denied in the documents that she and Swift had discussed the Times article in advance. She also disputed claims that Swift endorsed her script revisions without reading them.
“And I sent Taylor the script on her way to my apartment because Justin was still there, and I asked her to read them,” Lively said in her statement.
“I told her she didn’t have to. I didn’t want her to feel pressured. But I hoped she would.”
Dragging Baldoni to Other Hollywood A-Listers
Baldoni’s legal team further alleges that Lively trashed the director to other powerful friends — including Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
“She also did not hesitate to disparage Baldoni among her Hollywood crowd,” the filing claims.
“She described him to Ben Affleck, for example, as a ‘chaotic clown.’”
Lively allegedly bragged to friends that she “rewrote the script” and “directed every actor.”
Swift’s Role in the Feud
Swift was formally pulled into the legal drama in January 2025, when Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively. His filing included texts referencing a moment when he allegedly felt pressured by Lively’s inner circle — including her husband Ryan Reynolds and Swift, whom she reportedly called her protective “dragons.”
“The message could not have been clearer,” Baldoni’s lawyer wrote.
“Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world.”
Swift’s team later moved to distance her from the film entirely.
In June 2025, her representative told Page Six:
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in casting or creative decisions. She did not score the film. She never saw an edit or made notes on it. She didn’t even watch It Ends With Us until weeks after its release and was traveling the world during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”
Silence From All Sides
Representatives for Lively, Swift, and Baldoni did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
But with these leaked texts now public, the ugly Hollywood feud over It Ends With Us has entered an even messier — and far more personal — phase.
