Sky News Reporter Accidentally Drops the F-Bomb on Live TV — and Everyone’s Reaction Is Pure Gold

Journalist Has Hilarious Reaction as Co-Anchor Drops the F-Bomb During Live Broadcast Live television has no rewind button — and Sky News learned that lesson the funny way.

On Dec. 20, arts and entertainment correspondent Katie Spencer was in the middle of a perfectly ordinary segment about author David Walliams when her brain briefly hit the buffering stage.

“He published his very first book with Harper Collins back in 2008, The Boy in the Dress,” Spencer began confidently. Then came the stumble. “He’s gone on to publish a further… more than 14…”

Cue the moment of honesty.

“Oh f— it, I’m going to start again,” Spencer blurted out — apparently unaware she was very much live on air.

Realizing something was off, Spencer shifted in her chair, looked straight at the camera and added, with perfect comedic timing, “Sorry — do not ever air me saying the F-word.”

Unfortunately for Spencer, live TV does not take requests.Katie Spencer and Kamali Melbourne

As she attempted to restart her report, the camera cut back to the newsroom — and that’s when the real show began. Anchors Kamali Melbourne, Anna Jones, and sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao all appeared momentarily frozen, their expressions hovering somewhere between shock, confusion, and “Did that really just happen?”

After a few seconds of beautifully awkward silence, Melbourne finally broke it.

“Apologies if you heard any bad language there — we’ll check that out,” he said, furrowing his brow and glancing nervously between his co-anchors. Then, trying to lighten the mood, he pivoted to Beltrao with a grin: “But Jacquie’s joined us — no bad language, Jacs.”

Beltrao laughed it off. “No bad language from me!”

Naturally, viewers loved every second.

Social media quickly declared the moment a live-TV classic. “The face on the bloke at the desk… PRICELESS,” one viewer wrote on X, summing up the collective reaction. Another shared a shocked GIF with the caption: “Swearing doesn’t bother me — but hearing a reporter on #SkyNews drop the F-bomb before 8 a.m. hits different.”

As for Spencer’s request that the clip never be aired?

Yeah… about that.

Sometimes the best moments on television are the ones no one planned — especially when they come with a perfectly timed F-bomb and a newsroom full of stunned faces.
