Selena Gomez fires back at Hailey Bieber over beauty brand comments
The feud between billionaire beauty moguls Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber appears to have reignited.
Gomez responded to what many saw as a dig from Bieber in a now-deleted Instagram post shared early Saturday morning.
“Just leave the girl alone. She can say whatever she wants. Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance, not intelligence. Be kind. All brands inspire me,” Gomez wrote in her Instagram Stories. She added: “There is room for everyone. And hopefully we can all stop.”
The “Only Murders In The Building” star’s post came after Bieber, who married Justin Bieber in 2018 shortly after his on-off relationship with Gomez ended for good, described constant comparisons between her Rhode Beauty brand and Gomez’s Rare Beauty as “annoying.”
“It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that,” Bieber said. “I think there is space for everybody. I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by.”
While a representative for Bieber insisted her comments were “not about Selena Gomez” directly, Gomez seemed to have interpreted them otherwise. Representatives for both stars did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The duo previously appeared to reach a truce in 2022, with Bieber insisting on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that it was “all love” between them. Gomez married Benny Blanco last month, and the two had publicly shown support for each other, liking posts about major milestones.
However, the period of peace appears to have been short-lived, with fans speculating tensions are now resurfacing.
