Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are getting married? Engagement announcement pops up in newspaper

Save the date!

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya have appeared in a mock engagement announcement to promote their A24 film “The Drama.”

The promo, which ran in Tuesday’s issue of the Boston Globe, featured a picture of the pair in character alongside a short blurb about their roles in the upcoming dark rom-com.

Pattinson and Zendaya’s “The Drama” characters appeared in a fake engagement announcement in the Boston Globe on Dec. 9, 2025.“Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harwood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Harwood, to Charlie Thompson, son of Mr. And Mrs. Alan Thompson of London, England,” the notice began beneath a sweet photo of Zendaya sitting on Pattinson’s lap and showing off her dazzling engagement ring.

Like real engagement announcements, the blurb went on to list a few details about the future newlyweds.

“Mr. Harwood, a decorated military veteran, is proud to share this joyous news,” it continued. “Miss Harwood is a 2013 graduate of Portside High School and a 2017 honors graduate of Boston University, where she earned her B.A. degree in English. She is currently employed at Mission Books.”

“The future groom, Mr. Thompson, was a 2004 graduate of Eaton College and went on to earn his Ph.D in Art History from Tufts University,” the promo read. “He serves as the Director of the Cambridge Art Museum.”

The notice concluded by saying that the couple “will wed on April 3, 2026,” which is the same day “The Drama” is set to release in theaters next year.

However, not everyone realized that the engagement announcement was a clever publicity stunt to promote the film, and the Boston Globe later took to Instagram to clarify any confusion.

The outlet explained that their Living/Arts team received “an unusual request” on Monday about “holding” their daily TV Critic’s column to run an ad in that space “right next to the Love Letters romance advice column.”

A teaser trailer for “The Drama” was released on Wednesday and showed Pattinson and Zendaya’s characters preparing for their special day.

Although the clip begins with the happy couple posing for wedding photos together, it quickly turns to chaos as Zendaya’s Emma is seen chugging down alcohol.

Another dramatic scene shows Pattinson’s Charlie being held up by family members as he suffers a bloody nose.

“A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails,” the movie’s official logline reads.

“Days before their wedding, a couple’s relationship is shaken when one partner discovers unsettling truths about the other,” read another version.

In real life, both Pattinson and Zendaya are in serious long-term relationships – although not with each other.
