Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could potentially stay in Althorp House during their stay in the UK, it has been claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are confirmed to be attending the one-year-to-go events for the Invictus Games in Birmingham between July 10 and July 17, 2026.
Althorp House, the ancestral home of Prince Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, is only an hour’s drive away from Birmingham, making the location a logical choice.
According to the website for the stately home, Althorp House will be closed between July 10 and July 11.
The property opens annually to the public between July 1 and August 31, as Diana fans from across the globe hope to see the childhood home of the late princess.
The fact that the property will be shut for two days during this period indicates that the Sussexes could be staying with Earl Charles Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, during the one-year-to-go Invictus events.
According to Hello!, the residence has been offered to Harry and Meghan, but the couple have not yet decided whether to stay there.
It has not been confirmed if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will receive taxpayer-funded security during their stay.
Prince Harry has to apply 30 days in advance of travelling, and it is provided on a case-by-case basis.
