Prince Andrew Warned About Epstein a Year Before Meeting Virginia Giuffre, Lawyers Say

Prince Andrew allegedly told a young actress who was later abused by Jeffrey Epstein that another woman had complained about Epstein’s “inappropriate” behavior—more than a year before he is accused of having sex with Virginia Giuffre. What's Next for Andrew After He Loses 'Prince' Title? - The New York Times

According to a statement to The Mail on Sunday, Andrew introduced the actress he was dating in the late 1990s to Epstein during a visit to Windsor Castle. The woman reportedly went on to be sexually abused by Epstein and received a financial settlement as one of his victims.

High-profile US lawyer Perry Wander said the woman confided in Andrew 25 years ago about Epstein’s misconduct. Andrew allegedly replied that he “wasn’t surprised,” as someone else had made a similar allegation.

This alleged warning came over a year before Epstein trafficked 17-year-old Giuffre to London, where she claimed she was forced to have sex with the then Duke of York—a claim Andrew has repeatedly denied.

The actress, who wishes to remain anonymous, was introduced to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, later jailed for aiding Epstein’s trafficking, and was encouraged by Andrew to spend time with them, including trips on Epstein’s private jet and visits to his homes, including the notorious “Paedophile Island.”Virginia Giuffre died in Australia without a valid will – now the legal battles can resume | Australia news | The Guardian

Wander claimed that when the actress later told Andrew she was unhappy with Epstein’s behavior, he admitted knowing of another complaint against the financier, raising questions about his actions.

The latest revelations mark the first claim that Andrew introduced a woman to Epstein and are expected to intensify scrutiny of the former prince’s relationship with the convicted sex offender.

Andrew, who was stripped of all his royal titles last month, did not respond to requests for comment.
