The Labour Government unveiled a slew of pension reforms ahead of Andy Burnham becoming Prime Minister earlier this week.
Last week, former Pensions Minister Torsten Bell announced a revised reform roadmap at Mansion House, setting out adjusted timelines for several major policy initiatives that had previously been earmarked for earlier delivery.
The announcement, made before an audience of industry figures and press, acknowledged concerns raised about the pace of implementation whilst insisting the government remained committed to pressing ahead.
Key deadlines for the superfund regime, the Value for Money framework and guided retirement have all been pushed back under the updated plan.
The roadmap was drawn up jointly by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the Treasury, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Pensions Regulator, reflecting an effort to coordinate delivery across the regulatory landscape.
