Kim Kardashian Discovers “Low Brain Activity” Amid Stress from Bar Exam and Longstanding Aneurysm
Kim Kardashian revealed during the latest episode of The Kardashians that a new brain scan showed she has “low brain activity,” raising concerns about how chronic stress may be affecting her health.
In Season 7, Episode 6, which aired Thursday, Nov. 27, the 45-year-old reality star visited Dr. Daniel Amen for a brain scan alongside Scott Disick. “Scott and I are both going to look at our brains today with Dr. Daniel Amen. He does these brain scans to see how your brain health is really looking,” she explained.
Dr. Amen, who previously scanned Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner in 2022, praised Kardashian for her positive outlook. “You are extraordinary in being positive,” he said, noting that she is “not terribly stressed, not anxious, and not depressed” and that her risk for Alzheimer’s is low.
Despite these positive traits, Dr. Amen pointed out areas of concern. The scan revealed “holes” indicating low activity, particularly in the frontal lobes. “The front part of your brain is less active than it should be,” he explained. “As they work now, it would be harder to manage stress — and that’s not good for you, especially as you’re studying and getting ready to take the boards.”
Kardashian, preparing for the California bar exam, acknowledged the challenge. “I got to get on a plan to really figure this out because I have some s–t to do this summer,” she said. Dr. Amen suggested her chronic stress from studying and personal life may be a contributing factor.:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(795x427:797x429):format(webp)/the-kardashians-season-7-episode-6-brain-scan-112825-8f31aa2830244343947c2c54d50d5539.jpg)
The reality star recently shared with her sister Kourtney Kardashian that doctors discovered an aneurysm in her brain during a Prenuvo scan. “They’re like, ‘It’s been there for years,’” she said. Concerned about potential risks, she contacted brain surgeon Dr. Keith Black, who advised further imaging and warned that stress could increase the risk of rupture.
Kardashian has attributed her stress to both preparing for the bar exam and the ongoing fallout from her 2022 divorce from Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
New episodes of The Kardashians air Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu, following Kardashian’s journey through health challenges, family life, and career ambitions.
