Lorraine Kelly hits out at Brooklyn Beckham amid World Cup ad controversy with barbed swipe: ‘Does he need the money?!’

Lorraine Kelly has taken a swipe at Brooklyn Beckham over his controversial new World Cup advertising campaign, questioning why the celebrity offspring would choose to capitalise on his highly publicised family feud.

The aspiring chef and amateur photographer stars in a new advert for food delivery service DoorDash ahead of the Fifa World Cup 2026.

In the campaign, Brooklyn appears to make a pointed reference to his ongoing rift with parents David and Victoria Beckham.

Opening the advert, Brooklyn tells viewers: “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the Fifa World Cup 2026 from home.”Lorraine Kelly

After flashing a smile to the camera, he adds: “It’s a long story,” before tossing a pair of match tickets onto a nearby table.

The tongue-in-cheek remark has sparked widespread discussion, with many interpreting it as a nod to the strained relationship between the eldest Beckham son and his famous parents.

Discussing the advert on her ITV daytime programme Lorraine, Ms Kelly appeared baffled by Brooklyn’s decision to lean into the family drama.

“Apparently, there is more to come on that,” she told viewers.Brooklyn Beckham

“You wonder to yourself – does he really need the money to do that? I just don’t get it; I don’t understand what is going on.”

Ms Kelly wasn’t alone as GB News star Bev Turner also waded into the ongoing drama to deliver her thoughts on the move.

Ms Kelly’s comments come as speculation surrounding the Beckham family feud continues to take over headlines.

Brooklyn has been embroiled in a long-running dispute with his parents since making explosive allegations earlier this year.Brooklyn Beckham

In a statement released in January, he claimed David and Victoria Beckham had been “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped”.

He also alleged that his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, had been “disrespected” by members of his family.

Since issuing the statement, Brooklyn has neither appeared publicly with his parents nor acknowledged them on social media.

He further accused them of prioritising “Brand Beckham” and attempting to influence media narratives surrounding the family

The former Spice Girl insisted that both she and David remain devoted to their children.

“We love our children so much,” she said. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents.”

The celebrity couple, famously known as Posh and Becks, are also parents to sons Cruz and Romeo, and daughter Harper.

Brooklyn married actress and heiress Ms Peltz, daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz, in 2022.

The advert’s timing comes as Brooklyn accused his parents of “staging” a photo opportunity involving his younger sister.

During a visit to LA, Harper was pictured looking downcast as she appeared at her brother’s home to deliver a letter, only to discover he was out of town.
