White House Releases Trump’s MRI Results After Days of Speculation
The White House on Monday released President Donald Trump’s latest MRI results following mounting pressure for an update on his health. The disclosure came after Trump, 79, promised to make the scans public during a flight on Air Force One, responding to an online exchange with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who challenged him to release the findings.
The update arrives just months after officials confirmed that bruising on the president’s hands—widely noted and photographed during public events—was caused by a chronic but harmless vein condition. The bruises, sometimes seen concealed with makeup, had fueled speculation about Trump’s health.
MRI Declared Routine and Normal
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the MRI evaluated Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal systems and was part of standard medical protocol for a man of his age.
“This level of detailed assessment is standard for an executive physical at President Trump’s age and confirms that he remains in excellent overall health,” Leavitt said during a press briefing.
White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella also indicated that the abdominal imaging showed no abnormalities.
“Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits, with no acute or chronic concerns,” the memo stated, reinforcing that the depth of the assessment was typical for someone in Trump’s position.
Concerns Over Bruising Sparked Months of Rumors
Public concern over Trump’s health began in February when photographs revealed dark bruises on the back of his right hand during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. More bruising was spotted in August during his visit with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
Leavitt initially attributed the marks to repetitive handshakes.
“President Trump is a man of the people,” she said. “He’s constantly working and shaking hands all day, every day.”
Later, the White House clarified that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency—a benign condition that can cause discoloration and swelling in the hands and ankles.
Earlier Physical Showed Exceptional Results
Trump underwent a full physical in April, during which Dr. Barbabella reported the president to be in “excellent overall health.” According to the physician, Trump’s “cardiac age”—an ECG-based measure of cardiovascular vitality—was approximately 14 years younger than his actual age.
“He continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction,” Barbabella noted.
