Fox News host Janice Dean is opening up about her life with multiple sclerosis (MS) and how she’s learning to embrace her body — strong legs and all.
Janice first experienced an MS episode in 2005, during a busy hurricane season. She woke up one day unable to move her feet and legs, and after MRIs and a spinal tap, she was diagnosed with MS — a chronic, unpredictable disease of the nervous system.
“At that moment I thought my life was over. My career, my relationships, how would I support myself?”
Finding strength in the struggle
With the help of a compassionate MS doctor and nurse, Janice found hope. She connected with others living with MS who weren’t just surviving — they were thriving. Over the years, she learned to focus on gratitude and her body’s strength, rather than fears or criticism.
“This incredible body that delivered two beautiful children… has taken me to so many places.”
Body-shaming meets empowerment
Recently, Janice spotted a cruel Facebook comment about her legs:
“Your legs are distracting every time you walk on screen.”
Her response? Epic and unapologetic:
“I’m grateful I have them to walk with… You can always turn the channel if offended. Hope you don’t mind. I may share your post with everyone on my FB page.”
Her MS nurse Jen jumped in to support her:
“I LOVE those strong legs… Wear skirts proudly and show your STRONG legs!!!”
Celebrating her strength
Janice shared photos taken just 60 seconds apart, showing the same legs that some people tried to shame — but to her, they are a symbol of resilience.
Living with MS is unpredictable, but Janice has found strength, pride, and purpose in her body.
“Be proud of this body. There’s so much more I want to do with it. And I will. With my head held high. On my big strong legs.” 💪❤️
