Coronation Street star Rhea Bailey has shared some wonderful personal news with fans. The actress has revealed that she married her longtime partner, Overtones singer Darren Everest, and has posted the first photos from their beautiful wedding celebrations.
However, fans were surprised when Rhea also admitted that she and Darren secretly tied the knot just days before their main wedding ceremony.
Coronation Street Star Rhea Bailey Reveals They Secretly Got Married
Rhea Bailey, who played Caz Hammond in Coronation Street, recently said “I do” to Darren Everest from The Overtones. The actress, who has also appeared in The Bill and more recently Emmerdale, shared a series of wedding photos on Instagram.
The pictures showed moments from both their registry office ceremony and their larger white wedding celebration. Alongside the photos, Rhea revealed that she and Darren had quietly married before the official wedding day.

Sharing snaps of herself wearing a white slip dress and a green fluffy coat while cuddling Darren outside the venue, she revealed that they had “got secretly married at our local registry office!
“The actress explained that only her sister and brother-in-law attended the ceremony as witnesses. She wrote: “With only my sister and her husband as our witnesses! It was more special than I ever imagined it could be x.”
Why The Couple Chose Two Wedding Ceremonies
Rhea continued by sharing why the private ceremony meant so much to them. She explained that it gave them a rare chance to enjoy time together without interruptions.
She wrote: “And how incredibly lucky we are to feel so much love for each other. We also laughed about the fact that we could actually have a conversation without being interrupted. “It felt all the more special because we don’t get any date nights together at the moment”. The couple share two daughters, Ilaria and Noemie.

“I didn’t want an ‘Officiant’ that we didn’t know conducting our wedding and tapping his watch every three seconds and not being patient with our two year old! (If you know you know!) 2 year olds are a law unto themselves and I really wanted to create a relaxed and chill environment. I wanted to cater for any ‘surprises’ she might throw our way – which worked perfectly. And did come in handy!”.
Although Rhea initially worried that getting legally married first might take away from the excitement of the main wedding day. She soon realised that was not the case at all. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
