Chiefs Could Sign Stefon Diggs… But Is It Worth the Price?

The Kansas City Chiefs have enough flexibility to make a deal happen if they truly want Stefon Diggs. The real question isn’t whether they can sign him—it’s whether they should.

Diggs remains one of the NFL’s most talented wide receivers. Even at 31, he recorded 85 catches and another 1,000-yard season, proving he can still change games.

Adding him would immediately strengthen Patrick Mahomes’ receiving corps and give Kansas City another proven weapon for a Super Bowl run.

But every move comes with a price.

A competitive contract would likely force the Chiefs to push more salary cap money into future seasons, limiting their flexibility in 2027 and beyond. Kansas City already faces financial challenges, and another expensive veteran could make roster building much harder.

There’s also the question of fit. Diggs has produced everywhere he’s played, but he’s also developed a reputation for wearing out his welcome. The Chiefs would need to decide whether the short-term reward outweighs the long-term risk.

For now, Kansas City has options. They could make a bold move for Diggs—or wait for another familiar face like Tyreek Hill if the opportunity presents itself later in the season.

One thing is certain: adding another playmaker could dramatically change the Chiefs’ Super Bowl chances.
