Coronation Street fans were “not happy” as George Shuttleworth found himself first to be questioned for Theo’s death.
Theo Silverton first arrived on the Weatherfield cobbles last year, and soon Todd Grimshaw became infatuated with him. However, Theo’s true colours soon surfaced and he ran a horrific campaign of abuse towards Todd.
From isolating him from family and friends, to chipping away at his confidence, it wasn’t long until Theo used violence to control Todd. He was one of the five possible victims of a murder set to take place on the cobbles, and last week each night saw a different potential victim storyline play out.
Viewers watched as Todd played a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse to outsmart a vengeful Theo, and Summer Spellman found herself caught in the crossfire when she came face-to-face with a sinister Theo. Soon, outside, a jovial Betsy was given the shock of her life as she stumbled across the villain’s lifeless body.
Since then, Kit Green has been determined to get to the bottom of Theo’s death, with him trying to piece together the events leading up to his death.
Coronation Street have now confirmed the names of the six suspects who could be the killer. Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd, Summer Spellman, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton could all be guilty of ending Theo’s reign of terror.
On Tuesday (May 5), it was George’s turn to be interrogated by DS Lisa Connor-Swain. As Christina quizzed George in the undertakers asking if he had gone anywhere the night Theo died as she held his shirt with blood on it, Lisa walked in and was immediately intrigued.
George found himself in hot water when he let slip that although he was at home for most of the evening, he did go on a walk. Sadly for George, Lisa had enough to keep him in overnight and even Christina voiced her suspicions to Todd.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), viewers expressed how “unhappy” they were for George being interrogated. @liiarla wrote: “i’m not happy about my george acting so suspicious” as @lornawatts added: “George just can’t catch a break”.
Another viewer, @fake_tv_chef penned: “Our George is being honest! That blood is just from his struggle with Theo earlier—which you already know about.”
