Trump to Europe: ‘You’d Be Speaking German Without Us’ as He Pushes Greenland Grab

Donald Trump has told European leaders they would all be speaking German ‘and a little Japanese’ without US as he repeated his demand to acquire Greenland.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump claimed the US ‘won’ the Second World War while highlighting the importance of Greenland for American security.

He said: ‘After the war we gave Greenland back. How stupid were we to do that? But we did it. How ungrateful are they now?

‘So now our country and the world face greater risks than it ever did before because of weapons of warfare that I can’t even talk about.’

He also confirmed he will not use military force to acquire Greenland amid tensions between the US and Europe.

‘We probably won’t get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable,’ he said.

And Trump Trump lashed out at Britain’s ‘catastrophic’ North Sea oil and gas curbs today as he stoked Transatlantic tensions.

The US president condemned the UK for failing to exploit energy resources.

Breaking:Trump says US will not take Greenland by force

President Trump confirmed he will not use military force to acquire Greenland at the World Economic Forum.

‘We probably won’t get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable,’ Trump said.

‘But I won’t do that. Okay. Now everyone says, oh, good.’

He said he wanted ‘full ownership’ of the Arctic island as opposed to a boosted agreement, saying: ‘All we’re asking for is to get Greenland, including right title and ownership, because you need the ownership to defend it. You can’t defend it on a lease.’

Watch: Trump tells European leaders they would all be ‘speaking German’ without US

Donald Trump has told European leaders they would all be speaking German ‘and a little Japanese’ without US intervention in the Second World War.

Speaking about Greenland, he said the territory was handed by the US after they helped ‘win the war’ against Nazi Germany.

He told the World Economic Forum:

After the war we gave Greenland back. How stupid were we to do that? But we did it.

How ungrateful are they now? So now our country and the world face greater risks than it ever did before because of weapons of warfare that I can’t even talk about.

Watch: Trump mocks Macron for wearing shades during Davos speech

This is the moment Donald Trump mocked Emmanuel Macron after the French President wore aviator shades during his Davos speech.

Trump told the crowd he watched Macron in his ‘beautiful sunglasses’ before then adding, ‘what the hell happened’.

The President later accused Macron of acting ‘tough’ as he told how he threatened to impose additional tariffs over drug prices.

Macron wore shades during his speech in Davos to protect his eye following a burst blood vessel, his office said.

Trump takes aim at ‘Somalian bandits’ with ‘low IQ’ at WEF

Trump announced that the US is ‘cutting illegal aliens off welfare and other government benefits’ and that there will be no further payments to ‘sanctuary cities’ because they housed criminals at the World Economic Forum.

He continued to say that the government was cracking down on ‘$19 billion in fraud that was stolen by Somalian bandits.’

‘Can you believe that Somalian bandits have to be higher IQ than we thought? I always say, exceptionally low IQ people, how did they go into Minnesota and steal all that money?’ he said.

It’s not the first time Trump has slammed Somalian immigrants, claiming that Somalia ‘does not have anything that resembles a country’ on Tuesday.

Trump to meet Zelensky today

Donald Trump said he would meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today to discuss ending the war with Russia.

The President again slammed NATO and stressed Washington had ‘nothing to do with’ the conflict.

‘I’m dealing with President Putin and he wants to make a deal, I believe. I’m dealing with President Zelensky and I think he wants to make a deal. I’m meeting him today,’ Trump told world leaders at a summit in Davos.

He added NATO has ‘to work on Ukraine, we don’t… We have nothing to do with it’.

Zelensky has not confirmed he would travel to Davos and earlier in the week indicated he would skip the forum to stay in Kyiv and deal with widespread blackouts, heating outages and power cuts following Russian strikes.

‘We should be paying the lowest interest rates of anybody’ Trump says

Trump says the US should be paying the lowest interest rates of all nations because without the US ‘most countries don’t work.’

‘And then you have the protection factor without our military, which is the greatest in the world by far. Without our military, you have threats that you would never, you wouldn’t believe. You wouldn’t believe. You don’t have threats because of us,’ he continued.

Trump claims drug prices will come down ‘tremendously’

‘We have a sacred nations policy that every president wanted, no president was able to get it, and I had to use tariffs in order to get it because they said no way,’ President Trump said of drug costs.

‘In other words, a pill could cost $10 in London, cost $130 in New York or in Los Angeles. And I’d say, well, that’s bad. Friends of mine were saying, you know, we go to London, you can buy this stuff for nothing,’ he continued.

He said pharmaceutical companies had been ‘been getting away with the scam for a long time’ under previous administrations.

‘You go to all other work where you buy it for nothing because basically America was subsidizing every nation in the world because presidents allowed them to get away with it.’

Trump – Putin called me over ending Armenia-Azerbaijan war

Donald Trump has claimed Vladimir Putin called him after he resolved the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict as he reiterated the Ukraine war would never have happened under his presidency.

Describing Putin as someone he ‘knows well’, Trump told the World Economic Forum the Russian President called him to say he couldn’t believe he ended a 35-year war ‘in one day’.

On Ukraine, he repeated his claims the war would never have happened had he remained president and told the crowd it was the ‘apple in the eye’ of Putin.

Trump calls out Canadian PM Mark Carney

Donald Trump blasted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for his speech at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday.

‘Canada lives because of the United States,’ Trump said. ‘Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.’

During his speech, Carney said there has been a ‘rupture’ in the world order, and defended Greenland against Trump’s plan to seize the territory by calling on smaller nations to stick together.

Trump credits himself for saving NATO

Donald Trump reiterated his claim that NATO would not exist without him.

‘We give so much, and we get so little in return,’ he said. ‘You wouldn’t have NATO if I didn’t get involved in my first term.

‘Until I came along, NATO was only supposed to pay 2 percent of GDP. The United States was paying virtually 100 percent of NATO. I got NATO to pay 5 percent. They weren’t paying, and now they are paying.’

Trump says perpetrators of 2020 election ‘fraud’ will soon be prosecuted

President Donald Trump hinted Wednesday that people would be prosecuted over their roles in the 2020 election, which he still falsely claims was rigged.

Trump said that the war in Ukraine would never have started had he stayed in office, a claim the president often makes.

‘And it wouldn’t have started if the 2020 U.S. presidential election weren’t rigged. It was a rigged election,’ Trump told the crowd at the World Economic Forum. ‘Everybody now knows that. They found out. People will soon be prosecuted for what they did.’

‘That’s probably breaking news, but it should be – it was a rigged election, can’t have rigged elections.’

Trump says ‘no nation’ is in a position to secure Greenland but ‘the United States’

Trump addressed acquiring Greenland at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday.

‘We want strong allies, not seriously weakened ones. We want Europe to be strong. These are matters of national security. Would you like me to say a few words about Greenland?’ he began.

‘I have tremendous respect for the people of Greenland and Denmark, but every NATO ally has an obligation to defend their own territory, but no nation is in any position to secure Greenland than the United States.

He called Greenland a ‘uninhabited, underdeveloped big beautiful piece of ice’ that is sitting undefended in a key strategic territory between the US, Russia and China.

He mentioned how the US plans to build the ‘greatest golden dome ever built’ on the land in hopes of keeping ‘potential enemies at bay.’
