Travis Kelce is standing at the edge of a major life transition.

Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce walking off the field. After 13 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and three Super Bowl rings, the tight end is openly acknowledging that the twilight of his NFL career is approaching. Speaking ahead of the Chiefs’ 20–13 Christmas Day loss to the Denver Broncos, the 36-year-old admitted that retirement is no longer some distant concept — it’s a real question he’s actively wrestling with.

“I think I’m still searching for those answers,” Kelce told Amazon Prime Video, before adding, “When it’s over, it’s over — and I’ll know.”

But while one chapter may soon be closing, another is already opening. Kelce’s future in media and entertainment is rapidly accelerating, and he seems ready for it.

He currently co-hosts the wildly popular “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, and he has already begun dipping his toes into acting. This year alone, he appeared in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore 2” and hosted Amazon’s “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?”Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hand-in-hand in the Meatpacking District.

On top of that? He’s planning a wedding with fiancée Taylor Swift — expected to be the most high-profile celebrity wedding of 2026.

So the big question now: does Kelce step into sports broadcasting and follow the path of Tom Brady… or does he go full Hollywood?Travis Kelce as the host of "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?"

According to insiders, the pull of Hollywood is getting stronger. Kelce’s longtime managers, twin brothers Aaron and André Eanes, have been making the rounds in Los Angeles, attending high-profile industry gatherings and meeting with film and TV power players. One source spotted them at Zooey Deschanel’s Christmas party on December 13, mingling with Emmy-winning “White Lotus” producer David Bernad and fueling speculation about an upcoming project — potentially even a reality series.

Conversations have reportedly also taken place with “Curb Your Enthusiasm” producer Jeff Schaffer about a loosely scripted comedy in which Kelce would play himself — “Curb”-style — merging his real life with television.

Major studios and streamers are said to be circling. Netflix insiders say the platform is “watching his next move closely,” and executives believe his appeal stretches far beyond the football field. With major ad campaigns already under his belt — State Farm, Experian, Pfizer — and his own brands like Accelerator Energy Drink and Garage Beer, Kelce has proven he can command attention on camera. Forbes estimates his net worth at around $70 million.

“He appeals to almost everyone in a divided country,” one industry figure said. “He’s charismatic, funny, authentic — and a future Hall of Famer. That combination is rare.”

Many see the success of Peyton and Eli Manning as a blueprint. The Kelce brothers already signed a massive $100 million, three-year deal with Wondery to expand “New Heights,” and Jason Kelce has landed a $24 million ESPN contract. Some insiders believe the brothers will eventually become a powerhouse media duo.

But there are also reasons for Kelce to step back and think. The Chiefs struggled this season, dropping 10 of 16 games, and Kelce admitted the ending left “a sour taste.” He wants to make the right call — and hinted it’s not solely up to him. “If I want to come back, the Chiefs still have to want me back too. It’s a two-way street.”

Meanwhile, Swift’s schedule has opened up now that she’s chosen not to tour her newest album. She has already featured Kelce in her Disney+ docuseries “The End of an Era,” praising how naturally their ambitions support each other. Friends say the pair are deeply supportive — cheering in the stands, attending family events, and quietly planning the future.

Even so, Kelce has already started talking about the team in the past tense — another hint that retirement may be closer than fans think. After Patrick Mahomes’ ACL injury, Kelce spoke on his podcast about the Chiefs as though he were already on the outside looking in.

Still, he hasn’t shut the door completely.

“I’ve still got love for this game,” he said. “If I come back, it’ll be because that fire’s still burning.”

And whether that fire leads him back onto the field, onto a movie set, or onto a broadcast stage, one thing is clear:

Travis Kelce’s next act is going to be just as big as the last one — just different.
