Before stepping into the spotlight as CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk lived a life far removed from politics — one that included beauty pageants, reality TV, real estate, and faith-driven entrepreneurship.
Erika was named CEO in September 2025, just days after her husband, Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, was tragically assassinated at an event in Utah. Though she had long worked alongside him behind the scenes, she had never held an official title at TPUSA until the board unanimously appointed her to lead the organization following his death.
But long before the headlines, Erika was building a very different résumé.

Erika began competing in beauty pageants while still in high school, driven by community service and public advocacy. In 2011, she was crowned Miss Arizona USA on her 23rd birthday. Her run at the Miss USA pageant the following year didn’t lead to a title — but it did introduce her to a world far beyond the stage.
Yes, she was on reality TV:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(740x316:742x318):format(webp)/erika-kirk-120925-3c587a4964c34bb9878656b42cc6b1c0.jpg)
In 2019, Erika made a brief appearance on Bravo’s hit reality series Summer House. She wasn’t a main cast member, but viewers saw her guest-star as a potential love interest — complete with glowing praise on screen. Not long after filming, she was introduced to Charlie Kirk.
Later, Erika revealed she turned down bigger reality TV opportunities to focus on her education and career.
Degrees, discipline, and faith
An Arizona native, Erika graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in political science and international relations. She later earned a juris master’s in legal studies and a doctorate of education in Christian leadership from Liberty University — quietly, while juggling work and public life.
Podcast host and faith leader
In 2019, Erika launched Midweek Rise Up, a faith-based podcast centered on biblical leadership, integrity, and purpose. The project aligned with her doctoral studies and reflected her growing focus on spiritual leadership.
A clothing brand with a mission
Erika also founded PROCLAIM Streetwear, a faith-based apparel and lifestyle brand. For every sweatshirt sold, customers could gift another to someone in need. The brand later expanded into baby products, home goods, and a Bible-in-a-year ministry called BIBLEin365.
From TV cameras to NYC real estate
Around the same time, Erika became a licensed real estate agent in New York City, working with The Corcoran Group — the firm founded by Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran. Her professional bio later described her as a “multidimensional entrepreneur” with experience on the developer side of NYC real estate.
Now, a new chapter
Today, Erika Kirk is a widowed mother of two and the face of one of the most influential conservative nonprofits in the country — a role she never sought, but stepped into during unimaginable loss.
From pageant stages and reality TV to faith, business, and national politics — Erika Kirk’s journey is anything but ordinary.
