Last person to see Ana Walshe alive gives emotional account of her final night — and husband Brian’s reaction to her death

The last witness to see Ana Walshe alive emotionally recounted her final night — a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Massachusetts home she shared with her husband Brian Walshe – who is on trial for her murder.

He also recounted Brian Walshe’s cold-blooded response when he called and revealed Ana was missing.

Gem Mutlu said Ana – a 39-year-old mother of three – asked him to come to her and Walshe’s Cohasset, Massachusetts home on Dec. 31, 2022.

Mutlu spent New Year’s Eve 2022 with the Walshes at their Cohasset home.
“Ana came running out of the house to greet me,”  Mutlu said, before pausing to hold back tears. “She came running out of the house with no coat on. It was freezing.”
“I opened the door, we hugged each other and she ushered me in.”

Mutlu arrived around 8:30 p.m. and stayed until roughly 1:30 a.m. as the three enjoyed champagne and wine.

The trio signed the box for the $125 bottle of Lanson Noble Cuvee Brut they quaffed, which jurors saw photos of.

“Wow! 2022 … What a year!” Ana wrote on the box of bubbly. “And yet, we are still here and together!”

Then, a few days later on Jan. 2, Walshe called Mutlu to tell him Ana had gone missing after she left New Year’s Day for a work emergency.

“I was incredulous,” Mutlu recalled of his response to Walshe. “I said, ‘What work emergency could there be on New Year’s. It’s commercial real estate.”

Mutlu said he was struck by how Walshe’ tone was when he was telling him Ana had disappeared.

“It was way more even-keeled and toned down,” Mutlu started to say before Walshe’s defense attorney objected and the judge sustained it.

“His tone was not panicked,” Mutlu said.
