YouTuber Brandon Buckingham Shares Heartbreaking Health Crisis, Pleads for Help
YouTube star Brandon Buckingham, known for his documentaries and man-on-the-street interviews, has shocked fans with a dire health update and a plea for financial support.
Over the weekend, Buckingham posted a video from his hospital bed on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that he woke up a few days prior with no memory of his surroundings and was completely deaf. Rushed to urgent care and then the ICU, he revealed doctors believe he is suffering from acute systolic heart failure, kidney failure, and liver failure, though the cause remains unknown.
The 30-year-old explained that he created a GoFundMe to support his 11-month-old baby and stay-at-home wife, saying:
“I almost died and I need your help — I don’t like to ask you guys for anything but I am in a dire situation and this is my only option. God bless everyone who has sent kind messages, I really appreciate it.”
Just two days earlier, he had warned fans:
“In the ICU, my heart is failing, my lungs are failing, my liver and kidneys are failing. Things are not looking good my friends. I love you guys.”
The video has now amassed almost 3.5 million views, with thousands of fans and strangers sending messages of support and donations
-
“Been where you are when I was 24… hang in there. You got this.”
-
“Just donated. My heart hurts that you’re going through this. You’re such a bright light in this world.”
-
“Don’t know you but so sorry for what you’re going through — just donated. Really hope you recover.”
Brandon Buckingham’s heartfelt plea highlights both the fragility of life and the power of community support in times of crisis.
