A dramatic scene unfolded late Tuesday night outside the White House when a driver rammed a vehicle into a Secret Service barricade, officials confirmed.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, the incident occurred around 10:37 p.m. on October 21 near 17th and E Street NW in Washington, D.C. The driver allegedly crashed into a secured vehicle gate before being immediately taken into custody by uniformed Secret Service officers.
Authorities quickly inspected the vehicle with assistance from the Metropolitan Police Department and confirmed that it posed no active threat.
“The individual was arrested immediately, and the vehicle was deemed safe,” a Secret Service spokesperson said, adding that further details will be released once the investigation is complete.
