Travis Kelce nailed picking out an engagement ring for Taylor Swift!
During an appearance on the U.K. radio show Heart Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 3, the pop superstar, 35, opened up about her engagement to Kelce, also 35, and how much thought the NFL star put into designing her sparkler.
After hosts Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston congratulated Swift on the engagement and asked her to see the ring, Swift shared of Kelce, “He designed it with this amazing jeweler, Kindred Lubeck. She does all of her gold engraving by hand.
“I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out because when I saw the ring I [gasped] … I was like, ‘I know who made this, I know who made this,’ and also, you listen to me!’”
“It was like, you really know me. I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex,” she added.
The “Opalite” singer also spoke about writing her new 12-track album, The Life of a Showgirl, amidst her happy romance with Kelce and share how loved ones have seen her become more herself since they started dating.
“I did kind of nurture a fear early on in my career that if I wasn’t truly miserable in my personal life, would I be able to write? And I think that’s one of the reasons I love this album so much.
We were catching lighting in a bottle every time we were writing songs for this record and I do think someone in your life who fuels you, who makes you more you, everyone in my life is like, ‘You’ve never been so yourself,’ ” Swift said.
“This person came into my life and everybody’s been like, You’ve never been so you,’ and I think that comes through in music,” she added.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Aug. 26 in a post on Instagram alongside photos from the floral-filled proposal.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married ,” the post was captioned.
Sources close to the couple revealed that the engagement celebration was nothing short of a fairy tale. Held in a private garden surrounded by thousands of white roses — Taylor’s favorite — the evening reportedly featured an intimate live performance by Ed Sheeran, one of Swift’s longtime friends. Guests described the moment as “emotional, magical, and so authentically them.”
According to insiders, Travis Kelce coordinated every detail himself, from the music to the decor, wanting the proposal to reflect both their personalities — his athletic spirit and her poetic soul. The couple’s families were said to be present, making the occasion even more special.
Since the engagement, fans have flooded social media with congratulations and emotional reactions. “This is like a modern fairytale — the superstar and the football hero,” one fan posted on X, while another wrote, “You can see how genuinely happy she is. That ring says it all.”
As for what’s next, Swift and Kelce are reportedly planning a “grand yet deeply personal” wedding ceremony for summer 2026, with venues in both Nashville and Kansas City under consideration. A close friend teased, “Taylor wants the day to feel like her favorite song — timeless, romantic, and unforgettable.”
