
In a story that’s left both the media world and local community in disbelief, former Fox 2 anchor Angelynn Mock, 48, has been charged with first-degree murder — accused of stabbing her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, to death inside their Wichita home.

On Halloween morning, police arrived to find Mock covered in blood and cuts, standing outside her home. Inside, officers discovered Avers unresponsive in bed with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital but sadly didn’t make it.

Neighbor Alyssa Castro described the horrifying moment Mock — drenched in blood — ran up to her car begging for help and to call 911.
“Her hands were full of blood… she was scared, shaking,” Castro told KAKE News. “I asked if she was okay, but she just ran off.”

Mock worked as an anchor and reporter for Fox 2 in St. Louis between 2011 and 2015. She’s now being held in Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond, with her next court appearance set for November 14.
